Hasting Branch Library

History of Rebozos at the Hastings Branch Library

I was delightful to give a talk entitled
“ History of Rebozos" at the Hasting Branch Library in Pasadena,  during the lecture I was able to present  different ways to wear the rebozos.

A variety of rebozos from different places throughout the centuries.

Rebozos in Mexico have been worn by women since Pre-Hispanic times when they were made of sisal plants (henequen) and pigmented using natural colors like  Cochineal dye "Grana cochinilla"

I'm honored to be a presenter of the history of rebozos at the Tonali Studios on October 19. It was fun to share important facts about textiles, colors, and customs around the rebozo history.
